Eleanor Lee is a composer, producer, singer-songwriter and sound artist based in London and Seoul. Her practice moves fluidly across electronic music, popular music, indie, contemporary and instrumental music, electroacoustic and experimental electronics. Grounded in research-based music, conceptual composition, sonic fiction, hauntology, and the idea of music as archive, her work explores the residues of emotion, the layered temporality of memory, and sensory experiences that traverse both the personal and the social.
Growing up with a flautist mother and an ethicist father, Eleanor developed an artistic sensibility shaped by both creative practice and critical thought. She began making music from an early age through classical training, later expanding into interdisciplinary work during her secondary school years. In 2020, she became part of a Seoul-based collective of emerging artists, further developing a practice that moves across sound, performance and visual media. She later studied songwriting and production with K-pop and alternative R&B producer DAEHEE, an experience that helped shape the foundations of her musical language. Eleanor is currently studying Popular Music Production, with a second study in Sound Art, in the Electronic & Produced Music Department at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She co-runs the Guildhall Sound Art Collective with composer Finty Woolf and has been a member of the Guildhall Bauhaus Group since 2023 under the direction of Professor John Harle.
She has worked with a range of institutions and artists, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the National Gallery, EFG London Jazz Festival, the Barbican Centre, Southbank Centre, Corinne Bailey Rae, City of London, the Courtauld Gallery, the Royal College of Art, Radiophrenia Glasgow and the Electric Earth Orchestra. Her work spans composition, arrangement, production, sound art and performance for exhibitions, films, broadcasts, festivals, and concerts. She approaches sound as a medium for interdisciplinary inquiry- one that enables a nuanced engagement with layered memory, affective residue, and the sonic traces of both individual and collective histories.
엘레노어 리는 런던과 서울을 중심으로 활동하는 프로듀서, 작곡가 겸 싱어송라이터이다. 그녀의 작업은 전자음악과 대중음악, 인디, 기악 및 현대음악,구체음악과 실험 전자음악 등 다양한 장르를 넘나들며, 리서치 기반 음악, 개념적 작곡, 아카이브로서의 음악, 헌톨로지와 소닉 픽션의 축으로 삼아, 정서의 흔적, 시간의 층위, 개인과 사회를 가로지르는 감각들을 사운드로 아카이빙한다.
엘레노어는 2020년부터 서울 기반의 다원예술 창작 집단 ‘무영’의 멤버로서 사운드 아트 활동을 시작했으며, 이후 케이팝 및 얼터너티브 알앤비 프로듀서 DAEHEE에게 송라이팅과 프로덕션을 사사받으며 음악적 기반을 확립해 나갔다. 현재는 런던 바비칸 센터 내에 위치한 길드홀 음악학교의 전자음악과에서 대중음악 프로덕션과 사운드아트를 공부하고 있다. 그녀는 작곡가 핀티 울프와 함께 길드홀 사운드 아트 콜렉티브를 공동 운영하고 있으며, 2023년부터 현재까지 작곡가 존 할의 길드홀 바우하우스 그룹의 일원으로 참여하고 있다.
엘레노어는 BBC 심포니 오케스트라, 내셔널 갤러리, EFG 런던 재즈 페스티벌, 바비칸 센터, 사우스 뱅크 센터, 커린 베일리 레이, 시티 오브 런던, 코톨드 갤러리 및 글래스고 레이디오프리니아 등 다양한 기관 및 아티스트들과 작업해왔다. 그녀는 전시, 브랜드, 단편영화, 공연, 페스티벌 등을 위한 작곡, 어레인지, 프로덕션, 사운드 아트, 퍼포먼스 기반의 작업을 수행해왔으며, 사운드를 다학제적 탐구의 매체로 삼아 개인적이고 집단적인 기억의 층위에 접근하는 예술 실천을 이어가고 있다.
